Digital Marketing Business Consultant

Business development at Wagada is about improving and growing our business, by establishing and developing relationships with potential customers and partners.

As our business development manager, you’ll identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help our business grow.

The successful candidate will have the skills to strategically plan and position our proposition in a range of appropriate markets and generate new business, in addition to working with internal stakeholders to cross sell to our existing client base.

Primary Responsibilities

We work in a consultative way with our clients, so ideally our business development manager would have some experience and knowledge of digital marketing so that they can easily talk through how we would work with and support our clients.

As a business development manager:

  • Pitching, proposing and closing sales is a fundamental requirement
  • Experience within a Digital Marketing agency would be preferable
  • Write proposal writing, attending creative meetings and assisting in the production of colleague’s client proposals. Immaculate spelling and grammar is a must
  • Develop the business sales and marketing strategy
  • Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
  • Nurture and develop relationships with customers/clients
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
  • Work strategically – carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
  • Draw up client contracts
  • Have a good understanding of the businesses’ products or services and be able to advise about them
  • Ensure colleagues and internal stakeholders are on board throughout the organisation, and understand the need for change and what is required of them
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the all internal stakeholders, as appropriate
  • Seek ways of improving the way the business operates
  • Attend networking, seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.
  • Handling incoming leads and enquiries and making outbound calls
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management/the board of directors
  • Be prepared to travel

Preferred Expertise

  • Proven track record leading deal and project-based sales
  • Experience crafting, communicating and executing upon critical initiatives
  • Digital marketing experience is a distinct advantage
  • Robust negotiation skills and an ability to build and manage both internal and external relationships
  • Excellent analytical ability, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to form strong and productive relationships in an open and honest way

Plan the achievement of sales targets

  • Target projection sheets to be completed and handed to line manager
  • Review, report progress and project actual performance against target daily/weekly/monthly
  • Complete sales diaries daily online via in-house CRM system

Ensure excellent customer service standards are achieved

  • Demonstrate a high standard of business practice and ethics at all times
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Take action to avoid potential problems or resolve with solutions that best fit the customer and department needs

Complete all administrative tasks as per department and Company requirements

  • Complete all administration in accordance with departmental procedures
  • Provide written reports as and when requested
  • Respond to all correspondence, enquiries, customer complaints or credit requests within 24 hours of receipt

Do You Fit the Bill?

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant previous experience in a business development for digital marketing role
  • Aptitude in project management and team leadership
  • Proven executive presence and self-management ability
  • Solid understanding of digital media and consumer technology is required
  • Confident and experienced in pitching and demonstrating a product or service
  • Degree level or solid experiential career
  • A to C grade English and Maths GCSE.
  • You’re a native-like English speaker with impeccable spelling, grammar and English Language skills
  • You’re professional and honest
  • You have an eye for detail
  • You’re adaptable, a self-starter and have a can-do, hands-on approach.
  • Must BE car driver with own car and clean full UK driving licence.

The Nitty-Gritty

Basic salary: Flexible depending experience

Generous commission: Designed to reward success.  Accelerators for exceeding targets.

Hours: Full-time, 9.00am-5.30pm Monday-Friday,

Holiday: 23 days per year including the period between Christmas and New Year, rising to a maximum of 28 days, plus bank holidays

Location: Must live within drivable commute to St Albans
