2019: Our Year in Review

We have had another fantastic year here at Wagada! With new team members, fresh insights and ambitious clients, we have seen notable client successes, plus a few successes of our own…

Team development

2019 has been an exciting period of growth and we’ve seen the introduction of six talented team members at Wagada. We now have a new Digital Marketing Account Manager, Social Media Manager and Digital Marketing Executives, meaning that the office is buzzing with innovative ideas and a diverse range of knowledge to better support our clients.

At Wagada the introduction of new team members comes with team building activities to encourage everyone to get to know each other better and to ensure cohesive team work in the office. From a round of footgolf in the summer and weekly table tennis matches (Dee remains undefeated!) to roast dinner galore at the pub and a cider festival, Wagada’s growth period has been an exciting one!

We also kept up our annual tradition and carved pumpkins in October and for our Christmas party, we ventured into London for a night of cocktails and a whole lot of laughs at the comedy club. With the introduction of Friday lunches this year, the team also get a taste of food from all around the world every Friday whilst bonding over team games.

By now we have well and truly settled into our new offices and you’ll be pleased to hear the office has been suitably dressed with Christmas decor this month too!

Conferences & events

Back in April, our SEO team attended UnGagged 2019, a two-day SEO and digital marketing conference with fresh insights from industry leaders. Brighton SEO was another highlight of the year for our team and we have enjoyed implementing what we have learned from these events into our client’s strategies.

Celebrated client successes

The year has been filled with outstanding client results, including:

  • 217% increase in goal completions (insurance software)
  • 547% increase in goal conversion rate (education)
  • 234% increase in organic traffic (legal services)
  • 105% increase in Instagram engagement (clothing e-commerce)
  • 12 keywords on page 1 (beauty salon)

Community

This year the team has got stuck in with the local community. We hosted bake sales and charity lunches, were crowned winners of the St Albans Flippin’ Walkers Race and continued to support Their Future Today. We even ran the St Albans Half Marathon, raising a hearty £1,475 for the Abbeyfield Society, a local charity close to our hearts.

Our charity of the year for 2020 is Home Start, supporting local families who are struggling. Keep an eye out to see what exciting fundraising ideas we come up with this year!

Our awards

This year it was a great honour to sponsor Best Blogger Award at The Best Business Women Awards; a fantastic opportunity to raise the profile of  hardworking and inspiring business women.

We are delighted with our own successes too and we are humbled to have won the Workplace Wellbeing Award at the Inspiring Hertfordshire 2019 Awards. We are also incredibly proud to have been shortlisted as finalists in The Drum Search Awards 2019 for the Health category and in the FSB Awards 2019 for the Digital Innovation Award.

Another huge congratulations to our very own Dan and Sydney for being recognised as finalists for the Young Employee Award at the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce Community Awards, and well done to all of the winners in each category.

We are also delighted to announce that we are now patrons of the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce; an exclusive partnership between Hertfordshire’s Chamber, industry, local authorities and ambitious businesses.

We are keen to cement our working relationship with the Chamber and support Hertfordshire businesses in helping them grow. Fantastic news for Wagada!

Training sessions

Throughout 2019, we have shared our expertise more than ever with a huge variety of training sessions held right here in our offices. From Google Ads and Facebook Ads sessions to LinkedIn and Google My Business training, we have enjoyed sharing our knowledge with you all, tailored to your business needs and your prior knowledge. Look out for our up and coming training sessions in 2020!
